To strengthen individual readiness, everyone is advised to carry a whistle, a small flashlight and their UE ID or valid ID while on campus or during official activities. These essential tools can greatly assist in ensuring safety, visibility, and coordination during emergencies or evacuation procedures.

The University further encourages the students, faculty members and employees to familiarize themselves with designated evacuation routes, safety zones, and emergency response procedures. Together, let us uphold a culture of safety and preparedness within our campus.

UE Graduate School Partners with City of Cabuyao and OECO for Community Outreach /mla/ue-graduate-school-partners-with-city-of-cabuyao-and-oeco-for-community-outreach/ Mon, 25 Nov 2024 14:27:25 +0000 /mla/?p=31240

The University of the UUֱ Graduate School, in collaboration with the City of Cabuyao in Laguna and the UE Office of Extension and Community Outreach (OECO), held its annual Community Outreach Program under the theme ‘Cascading the GS Vision and Mission Through Community Engagement Initiatives’ at the Integrated Learning Facilities in Cabuyao City.

Graced by Honorable Cabuyao Mayor Dennis Felipe C. Hain, this off-campus outreach effort conducted last October 11 was led on UE’s end by Dr. Alberto T. Paala Jr., the Dean of the UE Graduate School, and Dr. Rogelio I. Espiritu, the UE OECO Director.

A key highlight of this community outreach program was the University’s second distribution in the city of 1,500 cans of carabao milk as part of the ongoing 120-day milk-feeding program in partnership with the Philippine Carabao Center. This initiative aims to improve the nutritional well-being of selected community recipients.

The outreach program was facilitated by faculty members and students of the UE Graduate School’s various academic programs, along with UE GS staffers, providing an opportunity to showcase their expertise and skills through four projects:

• Project 1: Go on Sale — an entrepreneurial initiative empowering the community through business development

• Project 2: Go for Safety — a program focused on safety awareness and preparedness in high-risk activities and industries

• Project 3: Gadgets and Scratchpads — a seminar workshop on digital design and innovative teaching methods for students and faculty

• Project 4: In Good Shape — a health and wellness education program that significantly contributes to the well-being of senior citizens in the community.

Over 100 participants from various barangays of Cabuyao City participated in the outreach activities, helping to underscore UE’s commitment to social responsibility and efforts to broaden the reach of its community service initiatives.

Thank you and cheers, Cabuyao officials and participating residents, and to our Graduate School and OECO Warriors!
